Final Report: Human Rights and Technology
Ethical AI
New technologies, like artificial intelligence (AI), are reshaping our world. They bring powerful opportunities and threats, especially to our human rights. The Final Report sets out a roadmap for Australia to seize the opportunities and address the threats.
Australia should innovate consistently with our liberal democratic values. This means being consultative, inclusive and accountable. New tech should come with robust human rights safeguards.
Technology and human rights
The recommendations in the Final Report are informed by the Commission’s expertise, our research and extensive public consultation with the community, government, industry and academia.
The Final Report aims to foster a deeper understanding of the human rights implications for Australia of new and emerging technologies to ensure ethical AI is designed and deployed.
