Purpose

The purpose of this web site is to help the Australian Human Rights Commission fulfill its role of distributing information about human rights.

The site aims to do so by presenting a clean, fast, consistent and easily navigable online interface onto the work of the Commission.

Design priorities

To meet these aims, a design priority has been to maximise accessibility to the information presented on the site, by:

• making the site accessible to the widest range of people in the community, including people with a disability;
• making it usable by a wide variety of web browsers, at a variety of screen resolutions and colour depths;
• making pages and images small in size, so they download fast, even over an old modem;
• designing the pages so that they print out well
