About
The City of Sydney currently employs about 2000 people, 1.5% of whom identified as having a disability.
Purpose
The City of Sydney aims to provide greater social and economic opportunities for people with disability to enable full participation in city life, protect the rights of people with disability and promote the value of diversity and inclusion across the community. There is an ongoing commitment to making Sydney truly inclusive and welcoming. The City of Sydney aims to improve:
- the development of positive community attitudes and behaviours towards people with disability and carers
- the creation of more liveable communities for people with disability and carers
- the achievement of a higher rate of meaningful employment participation by people with disability and carers through inclusive employment practices
- more equitable access to mainstream services for people with disability through better systems and processes.
