IncludeAbility Employer Network - Australian Public Service Commission
Purpose
The purpose of the Australian Public Service Commission is to position the Australian Public Service (APS) workforce for the future to ensure it meets the demands and expectations of the Australian Government and people. The Commission is committed to diversity and inclusion both within our own workforce and through the policies and advice we produce for the broader APS. We recognise the benefits of individual difference while promoting the value of diversity more broadly.
Diversity and inclusion
The Commission has policy responsibility for a suite of diversity strategies and inclusion initiatives that form part of the Australian Government’s APS Reform agenda, Delivering for Australians. The Commission is at the forefront of policy reform and aims to support and drive recruitment, career progression and flexibility for identified diversity groups, striving to ensure all APS employees feel included, supported and valued. We have developed strategies to increase representation of diversity groups, enabling employees to feel comfortable with their own identity or comfortable in disclosing any diversity identity, whilst improving organisational culture.
The APS Disability Employment Strategy
The APS Disability Employment Strategy 2020–25 is an important part of the Australian Government’s ongoing commitment to improving employment outcomes for people with disability. This Strategy sets out a comprehensive plan to improve the employment outcomes for people with disability and to increase representation of people with disability to 7% in the APS.
